Gene’s Chili Hut is proud to bring back our famous family chili recipe in Vermont. Our father and son run mobile food trailer serves up classic American food across state. We are available for parties, events, and more!
Our Story
In the early 1950’s my father Joe and his brother, my uncle, Gene opened Gene’s Chili Hut. They quickly became known for the unique chili sauce they put on hotdogs and burgers, a recipe that was purchased for $5000.00. Gene passed away at the young age of 37, my father continued to run the business with his mother. In the late 60’s my father decided to get out of the business. Fast food chains were popping up, and with the competition increasing he stopped while he was ahead.

Gene’s Chili Hut serves up classic American favorites like hot dogs, chili dogs, burgers, grilled cheese sandwiches, french fries, and more. Our flagship snack is our chili dog, made with the same family recipe that made us famous almost 75 years ago in upstate New York. We routinely run specials, so don’t miss our next stop!
